The Manchester United Busby Babes Team The Munich Air Disaster The True Story Behind The Fatal 1958 Crash: The Night 8 Of Manchester United S Busby Babes Died

A Haunting and Unforgettable Account of the Tragedy That Forever Changed Football

On February 6, 1958, the world of football was forever changed. A British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on its third attempt to take off from a slush-covered runway at Munich-Riem Airport, West Germany. On board were 44 people, including 20 players from the Manchester United football team, nicknamed the "Busby Babes." This tragic event, known as the Munich Air Disaster, claimed the lives of 23 people, including eight of the Busby Babes.

The Busby Babes were a group of young, talented players who had won the Football League First Division title in 1956 and 1957. They were managed by Matt Busby, who had rebuilt the team after the Second World War. The team was on its way back from a European Cup match against Red Star Belgrade when the plane crashed.

The Munich Air Disaster was a devastating blow to Manchester United and to the world of football. The club lost some of its best players, including Duncan Edwards, who was considered one of the greatest players of his generation. The tragedy also had a profound impact on the city of Manchester, which was still recovering from the war.

In The Night of Manchester United Busby Babes Died, author Matt Dickinson tells the haunting and unforgettable story of the tragedy. Dickinson draws on eyewitness accounts, interviews with survivors, and archival research to create a vivid and moving account of the events leading up to the crash, the crash itself, and the aftermath.

The Night of Manchester United Busby Babes Died is a must-read for any fan of football or history. It is a powerful and moving story of a tragedy that forever changed the world of football.
